TIPS FOR REUPHOLSTERING A SOFA

  1. Don’t just measure your sofa with the fabric lying flat on the floor, measure from each corner to the center and match up to ensure the seat height is configured properly.
  2. Be sure to use a level when you are measuring!
  3. The back of your sofa should be pushed away from walls and other objects so as not to interfere with measurements.
  4. Make sure that you have all furniture moved away before starting to measure, including any glass or appliances on top of it (i.e., tv stand), as this will affect the placement of measurements and result in smaller finished piece dimensions when compared to what we present online.

If you want to upgrade your sofa, consider re-upholstering it. Fitting a new upholstery fabric over the old does make it look newer and more inviting than having the same fabric for years on end. The good news is that it’s not difficult to reupholster a sofa, especially if you have access to a sewing machine and don’t mind ripping out the old stitches.
